7/52 This week’s highlight was our little girls Birthday!!! It’s so mind boggling how a dog has an ability to steal your heart, occupy most of your thoughts and be a source of many worries. Nami became a part of us over the past 8 months since she joined our family.

She is a shiba through and through, and as all shiba owners know, the moments of affection don’t come easily. But to see that smile, wagging tail and airplane ears is all I need at the end of a difficult day, hell, any day!!!

I’m sure I can say it for both of us, Humpsti, mommy and daddy love you indefinitely and are so thankful that you are making our lives better!!!

Have been slacking somewhat with this blog. My boyfriend was going through a recruiting process for an internship and I was helping him out with resumes, applications and cover letters. Thankfully all our hard work paid off and he received an offer from one of the public accounting firms and started work today :-)

So the Giants are going to the Superbowl and everybody in the office is super excited and placing the bets. I bought two boxes and ended up with very undesirable numbers 7-5 and 6-1 :-( Oh, well!

Coming originally from Belarus, I didn’t know anything about football, besides it being a popular american sport, nor did I really care to learn. The 2007 Superbowl was actually the first football game, that I have ever seen. My boyfriend explained the rules to me then and I got sucked in. Now, five years later, I’m really excited to see the repeat of Giants vs. Patriots, and hoping this game will be as exciting as the game we saw 5 years ago.

Nami got spayed this week and has to wear a hated t-shirt for the rest of the week. She spends most of her days curled up under the table looking extremely unpleased and only comes out for treats of cheese and ham. Once the t-shirt comes off, she becomes super hyper and wants to be chased around the apartment. Poor puppy also missed out on all the snow fun this week. We are hoping for more snow in couple of weeks, so she can really enjoy running and hopping without the confines of the dreaded leash. (Taken with instagram)

The highlight of this week was …a broken car, which resulted in quite hefty amount of money ;-( … So yeah, not a very happy week here.

I was thinking long and hard on what should be the focus of my 52 week project. Whether it should be just about our Nami or it should be about the highlight of the given week. I decided on the latter.

So here goes…

The highlight of this week was beautiful weather with lots of shopping, deals and great dinners out with my significant other.

Eataly is a restaurant/cafe/supermarket/bakery/…. It is owned by Mario Bataly and is both a little touristy and gimmicky at the same time. However, we love to pop in there for the atmosphere and a glass of wine, gelato and/or great tasting cheese and salumi. It reminds us of the awesome time we spent in Rome and Amalfi Coast.

New Year started on the high note. Eventhough we were supposed to meet the New Year with friends at a bar, we decided to stay with our family and our sweet Nami (talk about shiiba mind control). ;-)
